Urgent Opportunity: Energy Grants for All Community Sporting Clubs
An exciting opportunity has just been announced to help community sporting clubs across Australia slash their energy costs, upgrade facilities, and reinvest those savings back into local sports. Under the Australian Government’s Game On: Teaming Up for Climate Action program, $35.2 million is being delivered to help clubs decarbonise and lower power bills.
Because funding is capped to support only around 500 clubs nationally, early preparation is essential.
Key Grant Details
- Funding Amount: One-off grants between $25,000 and $100,000.
- Applications Open: 11 June 2026 (Highly competitive; early preparation is crucial).
- Program Goals: To lower club operating costs, improve climate resilience, and increase local community awareness of energy efficiency.
What Projects Can the Grant Pay For?
The funding is designed to cover critical energy infrastructure upgrades, including:
- Solar PV Systems, Solar Carports & Battery Storage
- LED Lighting upgrades
- Energy-efficient HVAC systems
- Energy Audits to identify cost-saving opportunities

To maximise long-term savings, many clubs choose to install larger solar and battery systems than the grant completely covers. If your project exceeds the maximum grant amount, the remaining balance can be funded via one of our finance partners. This allows your club to:
